Moldovan passport gives visa-free access to 74 countries
The Moldovan passport has ranked 79th in the latest global mobility index. According to the ranking’s authors, citizens of Moldova can travel visa-free to 74 countries around the world.
A further 42 countries offer visas on arrival or other simplified entry procedures, while six destinations can be accessed with an electronic travel authorisation. For 76 destinations, Moldovan citizens still need to obtain a visa in advance.
The highest level of accessibility for holders of a Moldovan passport is in Europe, where the figure stands at 93.5%. Citizens of Moldova can enter 43 European countries without a visa, while travel to the United Kingdom, Ireland and Kosovo still requires one.
In Central Asia, travel accessibility for Moldovans stands at 80%. Other regional figures are 68.8% in the Caribbean, 58.8% in the Middle East, 58.3% in South America, 54% in Asia, 53.7% in Africa, 52.2% in North America, 50% in the Gulf states and 35.7% in Oceania.
The figures show that the Moldovan passport provides its strongest travel access in Europe, while opportunities remain much more limited in several other parts of the world.
