Zelenskyy claims two attacks involving his plane in Moldova
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had previously claimed that a Russian drone almost hit his aircraft while it was in Moldova, has now spoken of two alleged attacks. Once again, both were said to have taken place on the territory of our country.
“In Moldova, my presidential jet was there, and that’s why they attacked Moldova,” Zelenskyy said. “When we went back home, again through Chisinau, they did the same,” Zelenskyy stated in an interview with CBS News.
Earlier, Zelenskyy had already placed Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Sture in an awkward position after the latter repeated his claims about a Russian drone attack. At the time, even the Moldovan authorities were forced to deny the obvious falsehood. There had been a drone, but Zelenskyy’s claim that it “almost hit” his plane was, to put it mildly, an exaggeration: it was detected 160 kilometres from Chișinău before leaving Moldova’s airspace.

While Zelenskyy’s claim was met with scepticism even within the government in Moldova, in Europe and the United States it was believed. So much so that Zelenskyy decided to repeat and embellish the story. In his new version, there were two drones.
In reality, Zelenskyy appears to have lied again. An unmanned aerial vehicle breaking through to Chișinău Airportcould hardly have gone unnoticed, especially while a high-ranking guest was there. Yet there were no reports of such an incident.
That Zelenskyy lies is, of course, a problem for Ukrainians. But this kind of lie is also our problem, because he is lying about Moldova and doing so with the clear intention of dragging our country into his war.
