PAS MP: We’re Only Just Launching the “Good Times”

Moldova News

MP Marcela Adam, speaking on television, tried to explain why the “good times” promised by PAS five years ago have still not arrived.

According to her, the “yellow” party was simply misunderstood back then. By saying “We are launching good times,” the party was not promising quick results but merely the start of a process of change.

“We know that any process is difficult, especially when it unfolds against the backdrop of overlapping crises,” she said, referring to the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine. “Everyone understands that changes do not happen overnight,” the MP noted.

The fact that the promised “good times” have still not materialized was once again explained by a chain of crises — the war in Ukraine and the subsequent energy crisis.

“If the memory is short, then Putin is to blame” — an argument that has become universal for the “yellow” camp and for those who continue to support them. However, PAS had not just one night but a full five years, during which they completely controlled state decision-making and had a free hand to implement whatever policies they saw fit.

That period was more than enough to mitigate risks. Instead, what followed was failure across nearly every area, including sectors not directly dependent on the war in Ukraine. Demographics, agriculture, human rights, relations with Transnistria and Gagauzia, even corruption — the very issue on which they built their rise to power — have all, according to critics, worsened.

The only thing that seems to have improved, critics say, is the salaries of officials.
