Instead of thinking about how to help farmers deal with the price shock caused by expensive energy, Agriculture Minister Eugen Osmokescu accused Moldovans of being irresponsible and started giving them unwanted advice.
Referring to his own experience, he urged citizens to turn their thermostats down to the minimum and save money on heating this way.
“I have never seen anywhere in the world, even in countries where people have had and still have access to cheaper gas, such an irresponsible attitude during the winter. You can afford to set the thermostat in your apartment to 18 or even 16 degrees at night. I lived at 14 degrees when I was abroad. So, at night, this is where we should start with ourselves,” the minister said.
As for the minister, he is an adult man who makes his own decisions about his life and health. If he is properly hardened, he is free to live in whatever conditions he wants. But there are certain health standards, and such a temperature can hardly be called healthy.
Is the minister ready to take responsibility for the health of elderly people, children and those with chronic illnesses? Unlike Osmokescu himself, such “hardening” will clearly not do them any good.
If he is not ready, then would it not be better for him to go and carry some heavy sacks?
