Moldovan MP Adrian Domentiuc has made new statements regarding the scandal in the Botanica police inspectorate in Chisinau.
He urged the Ministry of Internal Affairs to publish alleged video evidence showing police officers using наркотики while on duty.
Allegations Beyond Official Reports
According to Domentiuc, the issues in the Botanica unit are not recent. He referenced a previous case in Valea Trandafirilor park, claiming that suspects were released after external interference.
He further alleged that police officers:
• used drugs inside offices,
• consumed substances in service vehicles,
• and did so openly, without attempting to hide it.
Claims of Video Evidence
The MP stated that long-term surveillance recordings allegedly captured these incidents, including one episode where a senior officer handed a junior colleague a package with a white substance, saying: “Happy Easter.”
Domentiuc insists such behavior reflects a systemic problem rather than isolated misconduct.
Demand for Transparency and Accountability
The MP called on Interior Minister Daniela Misail-Nichitin to:
• release the alleged video recordings,
• ensure transparency,
• and take responsibility for oversight failures.
He argued that failure to disclose the materials would suggest an attempt to protect senior officials.
Broader Concerns
Domentiuc also claimed that similar issues may exist in other police units but declined to provide details, citing safety concerns.
He concluded that the situation reflects broader governance problems and promised further disclosures.
