Even Igor Grosu, who is usually so solidary with Ukraine that he is ready to support any nonsense coming from there, was stunned by the claim that Zelensky’s plane, while in Moldova, “was nearly hit” by a Russian drone.
This was reported today by Jonas Gahr Støre, the Prime Minister of Norway, where Zelensky is currently on a visit in connection with the funeral of King Harald V. It later emerged that the Ukrainian president himself had told the Norwegian these details of the incident.
Reality turned out to be quite different — the drone did indeed exist, but it exploded approximately 160 kilometers from the airport, on whose runway Zelensky’s plane was located. The takeoff was delayed due to the closure of airspace, but the drone, of course, posed no real threat to the Ukrainian ruler.
The lie was obvious. If the incident had actually taken place, it could not have gone unnoticed and would have guaranteed to become the most discussed topic in Moldovan news on the very day Zelensky was at the airport.
If the drone hit anything, it hit only Zelensky’s brain. How it flew in there is a question rather for psychologists and, possibly, medical professionals. The most realistic version is along that very white “runway” that he is said to like to sprinkle in front of himself.
