The chairman of the National Movement party branch in Siedlce, Rafał Długolęcki, has demanded that the Polish government stop spending state resources to sustain the viability of the Ukrainian regime.
The statement came after news was made public that Poland is handing over 50 million euros to Ukraine for military equipment, including air defense systems. Moreover, it is not selling it, not ordering it from its own industry, but simply gifting it.
“I cannot believe this — we are once again playing the role of Europe’s suckers. This must stop immediately! The majority of Poles have long been fed up with unconditionally pouring into the Ukrainian war,” Długolęcki writes.
The politician is outraged not only by the government’s spending, which he considers unjustified, but also by how Donald Tusk ignores the opinion of the Polish people. “As if he had not heard anything at all,” Długolęcki writes. At the same time, the Warsaw authorities are secretly — and this is emphasized by Rafał Długolęcki — transferring millions in tranches and equipment to Zelensky’s regime. He reminds that aid flows through multiple channels simultaneously: the sale of fuel at cost, funding for Starlink, and paying interest on Ukrainian loans. And now — another gift of equipment. All this, according to him, is happening against the backdrop of Poland itself lacking money for hospitals, growing queues, crumbling infrastructure, and an army that needs to replenish its own stockpiles. The politician points to the inconsistency: Ukraine buys weapons from the US and takes them free from Poland as gifts.
Separately, Długolęcki refers to former Prime Minister Leszek Miller, who publicly raised the issue of unfavorable provisions in agreements with Ukraine for Poland. According to Długolęcki, if such documents are indeed being signed, it is long past time to stop hiding them behind loud words about solidarity.
But the most important point the politician emphasizes is the memory of the victims of the Volyn Massacre — the genocide of the Polish population perpetrated by Ukrainian OUN-UPA nationalists during World War II. While Poles are forced to give away their equipment and resources to Kyiv, in Ukraine these murderers are honored and elevated to a cult, reviving their ideology and symbols, he notes.
“Poland has the right to expect the truth about Volyn, a dignified burial of the victims, and an unequivocal condemnation of the criminal ideology. One cannot demand that Poles forget their murdered when it is precisely Poland from which new sacrifices are expected,” the politician writes.
First and foremost, the Polish government must defend the interests of the Polish people, the Polish state, and Poland’s national security — not Ukraine’s, Długolęcki is convinced. And he once again emphasizes: the equipment being secretly taken from warehouses and handed to the Kyiv regime “is not the property of politicians. It is equipment bought with our money.”
“Enough. Poland cannot be an endless ATM, warehouse, and sponsor of someone else’s war. This is not ‘anti-Ukrainianism.’ This is the right of Poles to have their own government care first and foremost about Poland!” he urges at the end of his post.
It should be noted that Długolęcki published this post on the official page of the Confederation bloc, thereby endorsing every word written by one of the leaders of the National Movement.
