Mobile pharmacies could have been operating for six years already, stated former MP Marina Tauber, commenting on the Ministry of Health’s legislative “initiative.”
According to her, the idea does not belong to the ruling party at all. Back on July 9, 2020, deputies of the “ȘOR” faction registered bill No. 312, which provided for the operation of mobile pharmacy units in localities where there are no stationary pharmacies. The initiative passed through parliament and became Law No. 236.
“Mobile pharmacies could have been operating for six years already. But all this time, residents of villages continued to travel to district centers for medicines, which was especially hard for elderly people,” Tauber stated.
However, in 2021, PAS challenged this law in the Constitutional Court. According to Tauber, the current Minister of Health, Dan Perciun, was responsible for this area at the time.
“When the proposal came from the opposition, it was blocked, and years later the same idea returns under the PAS brand,” she noted.
Now the Ministry of Health presents the launch of mobile pharmacies as its own achievement. But, as Tauber emphasizes, this is only a pilot project — almost six years after the decision had already been adopted by parliament.
“Borrowing useful solutions from political opponents is not shameful. What is shameful is pretending that this idea did not exist before,” the former MP said.
So a convenient scheme emerges: first put someone else’s initiative under attack, and then, when it becomes relevant again, present it as your own achievement. Political rebranding instead of acknowledging who proposed the solution first. And village residents all this time continued to travel to district centers for medicines — for elderly people, such a trip could turn into a real ordeal.
