Ukrainian Women Smuggled Drugs into Moldova Disguised as Laundry Detergent

A large drug supply scheme from Poland has been uncovered by law enforcement authorities in Chișinău.

Two Ukrainian citizens, aged 22 and 25, have already been detained in the case. They were part of a transnational group that also operated in Georgia and Romania.

The supply channel for illegal substances from Poland had been identified last year. At that time, more than 20 kilograms of synthetic drugs were seized. However, the main suspect was located in Ukraine and was detained only at the end of February, when she personally arrived in Chișinău to oversee the delivery of a new shipment.

Two days later, her accomplice was also caught. She was detained at the Leușeni border crossing while attempting to enter the country.

At the border, she was carrying about 2 kilograms of PVP (spice) and half a kilogram of mephedrone in a suitcase, disguising the drugs as laundry detergent.

After examining messages on the suspect’s phone, investigators discovered several additional dead drops containing PVP, with a total weight of about 500 grams.
